Microbiologist II-CDC Contract (on-site). Atlanta, GA. Filled.

Perform molecular virology studies (detection and typing and high-level characterization) on viral diseases including rhinovirus and other respiratory viruses 

1. Evaluate diagnostic platforms for the detection of viruses 

2. Participate in burden of disease studies of respiratory virus outbreaks, sporadic cases and birth cohorts

3. Contribute to scientific publications and presentations for dissemination of findings through scientific forums

4. Perform the above tasks in accordance with CDCs biosafety policies and quality management policies

5. Participate in burden of disease studies to investigate the potential association and possible causes of specific respiratory illnesses such as AFM, MERs, COVID;

6. Attend weekly team meetings, and,  when necessary  provide information on current activities or to become familiar with current activities;

Experience:

Must have at least 2-4 years of experience

Qualifications:

Bachelors of Science in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry or related sciences.
